Woven in France Oudenaarde (Aundenaerde in old Flemish) was one of the most important production centres in the 16th and 17th century. Still nowadays we find the landscapes (Verdure), Hunting Scenes and Cabbage Leaves from that period all over the world. About 12,000 people in the Oudernaarde area earned their living from these tapestries in the beginning of the 16th century and nearly 20 centuries later.
